🌿 The short version
- Your birth date and time are worked out on your own device. On the free path they never reach us at all.
- They are never written to a log and never sent to an analytics event.
- We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
- If you ask us to delete your account, we delete it — we do not keep a shadow copy.
Who we are
LocalAstro is operated by Neutron LLC, 30 N Gould St Ste N, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States. For anything in this page, write to info@neutronllc.org. We are the controller of the information described below.
What we hold
Your birth details
The day, time, and place you were born. These are the most sensitive things the product touches, and they are handled accordingly:
- On this website, the reading is worked out entirely in your browser. Your birth date and time are not transmitted anywhere. Close the tab and nothing of them remains with us, because nothing of them ever arrived.
- In the app, they are stored on your device. If you create an account so your places and plans follow you between devices, they are stored under your account and readable only by you.
- Never in a log or an analytics event. Our servers strip anything resembling a date, a coordinate, or an email address before writing a log line, and our analytics accepts only a fixed list of event names with no free-text fields.
Places you type
The place field checks the 5,000 towns already built into the page first, which needs no request at all. Only a name that is not among them — a village, a small town — is looked up, and then only the characters you typed are sent: no date, no time, no account, no identifier, and no credentials.
That lookup goes from your device straight to Open-Meteo, deliberately not through our servers. Passing it through us would put every user’s birth city into our own logs, which is the exact thing the rest of this page exists to prevent. A place name that nobody can tie to a birth moment is the smaller exposure, and it is the one we chose.
Your account, if you make one
An email address, the cities and plans you save, and what you have bought. Accounts are optional: the reading, your chart, and several city readings all work without one.
Health information
If you connect Apple Health or Google Fit in the app, that information never leaves your device. There is no network call in the code that reads it, and a check refuses to send any payload carrying one of its fields. It is never used for advertising and never shared.
Payments
Subscriptions and passes bought inside the app are processed by Apple or Google, and on the web by Stripe. We never see or hold your card number. We receive confirmation that a purchase happened and what it entitles you to.
The ordinary technical record
Our servers keep short-lived request records — the time, the page, a coarse region, and the kind of device — to keep the service up and to stop abuse. Birth details are removed from these before they are written.
Other companies involved
We keep this list short on purpose, and it is the whole list:
| Who | What they do | What reaches them |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Serves the site and runs our API | Ordinary request records; never birth details |
| Supabase | Stores accounts and saved places | Only what you chose to save, readable only by you |
| Open-Meteo | Finds a town we do not already carry | The place name you typed, and nothing else |
| Apple, Google, Stripe | Take payment | Your payment details, held by them and not by us |
| Google Fonts | Serves the two typefaces this site is set in | Your browser’s request for the font files |
We do not use advertising networks, tracking pixels, or third-party marketing tools, and we do not sell or share your information for anyone else’s advertising.
Cookies
No advertising or tracking cookies. If you sign in, a cookie keeps you signed in. That is the extent of it.
How long we keep things
- Account information: until you delete your account.
- Saved places, plans, and documents you generated: until you delete them.
- Technical request records: a short rolling window, then discarded.
- Birth details entered on this website: not kept at all, because they are never received.
What you can ask for
Wherever you live, you may ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — including your whole account. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to object to a particular use, to ask us to restrict one, or to complain to your data protection authority. We do not charge for any of this and we do not treat you differently for asking.
Write to info@neutronllc.org from the address on your account. Please do not include your birth details in the message — we do not need them to find your account, and an email is not a good place to keep them.
Where information goes
We are based in the United States and the companies above operate globally, so information may be handled outside the country you are in. Where the law requires a safeguard for that transfer, we rely on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses or an equivalent.
Children
LocalAstro is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will remove it.
Changes
If we change how any of this works, we change this page in the same breath and move the date at the top. A change that makes a real difference to you gets told to you directly, not buried here.
